چکیده
This research aimed to develop statistical models predict basal area increment (BAI) for Araucaria angustifolia using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). Tree species were measured their biometric variables and identified at the level. The data subdivided into three groups: (1) intraspecific competition with A. angustifolia; (2) first group of that causes interspecific (3) second angustifolia. We calculated both dependent independent distance described indices, considering impact stratification. Multi-layer Perceptron (MLP) ANN was structured modeling. main results that: (i) input size most significant, allowing us explain up 77% BAI variations; (ii) spatialization competing trees contributed significantly representation competitive status; (iii) separate each improved performance models; (iv) besides competition, also proved be important consider. developed showed precision generalization, suggesting it could describe a common in native forests Southern Brazil potential upcoming forest management initiatives.

Individual-tree basal area growth models for jack pine and black spruce in northern Ontario
Individual-tree models of five-year basal area growth were developed for jack pine (Pinus banksiana Lamb.) and black spruce (Picea mariana (Mill.) BSP) in northern Ontario. Tree growth data were collected from long-term permanent plots of pure and mixed stands of the two species. The models were fitted using mixed model methods due to correlated remeasurements of tree growth over time. Since th...

Angiosperm and gymnosperm plants evolved from a common ancestor about 300 million years ago. Apart from morphological and structural differences in embryogenesis and seed origin, a set of embryogenesis-regulating genes and the molecular mechanisms involved in embryo development seem to have been conserved alike in both taxa. Few studies have covered molecular aspects of embryogenesis in the Bra...
متن کاملAntioxidant and Antigenotoxic Activities of the Brazilian Pine Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Kuntze.
Polyphenols are natural products with recognized potential in drug discovery and development. We aimed to evaluate the polyphenolic profile of Araucaria angustifolia bracts, and their ability to scavenge reactive species. The antioxidant and antigenotoxic effects of A. angustifolia polyphenols in MRC5 human lung fibroblast cells were also explored. The total polyphenol extract of A. angustifoli...
متن کاملAssessing model performance in forecasting long-term individual tree diameter versus basal area increment for the primary Acadian tree species
Tree basal area (ba) or diameter at breast height (dbh) are universally used to represent tree secondary growth in individual tree based growth models. However, the long-term implications of using either ba or dbh for predictions are rarely fully assessed. In this analysis, Dba and Ddbh increment equations were fit to identical datasets gathered from six conifer and four hardwood species grown ...
متن کاملIdentification and Evaluation of Reference Genes for Quantitative Analysis of Brazilian Pine (Araucaria angustifolia Bertol. Kuntze) Gene Expression
Quantitative analysis of gene expression is a fundamental experimental approach in many fields of plant biology, but it requires the use of internal controls representing constitutively expressed genes for reliable transcript quantification. In this study, we identified fifteen putative reference genes from an A. angustifolia transcriptome database. Variation in transcript levels was first eval...
